From humble beginnings in 1967, the Lycée Français de Singapour (French School of Singapore) has gone from strength to strength. A number of donations from French companies enabled the school to move to a large, modern campus in Ang Mo Kio in the 1990s. Still growing, the school has recently opened a second campus in Serangoon for Kindergarten and Primary school, and now has the capacity for 2,000 students. The school follows two streams – French with English as a second language, and a French and English bilingual programme – and is supervised by the French Foreign Ministry. Sports facilities are good and there is a range of extra-curricular sports and cultural activities on offer.

What the school says

“The French School of Singapore belongs to a dynamic network of French educational establishment in foreign countries, supported by AEFE (Agency for French Education abroad). LFS is a private school complying with Singaporean law and recognised by the French Ministry of Education. Beyond the demand of academic achievement, the French school favours the self-fulfilment of its students through a broad range of extra-curricular activities such as sports, technology and culture, organised on the 22,000 square metre campus that was opened in May 1999. Equipped with modern facilities, the French school offers the best assets to its students for building their future.”

The school follows the French national curriculum, either in French, or in bilingual classes (English and French).

Fees for the 2020/2021 school year range from 10,505 SGD a year for the Toute Petite Section up to 26,990 SGD a year in Grade 12. There are additional fees for students in the bilingual section. There is also a first-time registration fee of 5,350 SGD.

The school is in central Singapore in Ang Mo Kio, a short drive from popular expat areas on the East Coast.
